A team you can rely on
Our Services
Physicians and Nurse Practitoiners
Our physicians and nurse practitioners work to create a holistic plan of care that takes into account each individual’s unique needs and determines the most effective medication regimen to maximize comfort and quality of life. Our lead physician and medical director reviews all patients every two weeks to ensure the plan of care, medications, and medical interventions remain effective and appropriate.
Registered Nurses
The registered nurse case manager is the primary point of contact and clinical support for patients and families. Closely assessing and listening to needs and desires at each visit, the registered nurse reports any changes to the medical director and works collectively with all team members to provide optimal care.
Hospice Aides
Our hospice aides provide a wide variety of assistance for patients who require extra help with their activities of daily living. Services include bathing, toileting, skin care, hair care, oral care, dressing, linen changes, and incontinence. They have specialized training in performing these services while maximizing dignity and privacy.
Social Workers
The social worker is available for a wide range of social services such as emotional support, guidance on potential assistance programs, coordination of placement into group homes or facilities, elaboration on the respite benefit for caregivers, and any other social service needs.
Spiritual Coordinators
The spiritual coordinators are available to support any spiritual needs while accommodating all religious preferences. Chaplains can support non-religious or non-spiritual individuals as well in any manner that helps achieve emotional well-being.
Volunteers
Volunteers can be scheduled for regular visits or on an as-needed basis to provide companionship and allow caregivers to take a reprieve from the demands of daily care. RD Hospice volunteers provide companionship, music, and pet therapy to our patients.

A message from the founder
My name is David Lup, and I am a Family Nurse Practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice. After working for almost a decade in the hospice field and focusing the efforts of my doctoral thesis on improving hospice care, I decided to start R|D Hospice in December of 2022. My team and I have done this to have the freedom to do what is right for our patients without having to navigate the corporate bureaucracy.
At R|D Hospice, we pride ourselves on being A Team you can rely on. This means that excellent patient care comes first. Because we are clinician-owned and operated, we focus on improving the health of our patients as much as possible. We achieve this by providing them with truly individualized care. We deliberately keep our patient-to-nurse ratio at the lowest level in the industry. While other hospice companies have nurses caring for up to 20 patients at a time, our average patient-to-nurse ratio is 10 patients per 1 nurse.
We don’t cut costs when it comes to providing our patients and care partners with the supplies they need. Some practical examples of this are covering almost all our patient’s medications and providing nutritional supplements like Ensure® to all our patients that request them, regardless of admission diagnosis. We don’t use inexpensive supplies like vinyl gloves, or low-quality briefs, instead, we use nitrile gloves and superior incontinence and wound care supplies.
Our greatest asset is the reputation we are developing in the Valley. Although we are a newer company, our Google reviews reflect the fact that we deliver on our promises. Give us a call today for all your hospice needs and I guarantee you that you will see the difference in working with A team you can rely on.
